With ever-changing conditions that impact Siesta Key and Sarasota, it is important for us to stand united to protect this special place we call home. It’s a great way to meet your neighbors and connect with common interests to preserve our neighborhood.
Joining the BISA is your most effective way to stay informed and involved in our neighborhood. Your membership directly supports local advocacy, island beautification projects, and the preservation of our unique coastal heritage.
Our current Board is made up of the following:

BISA ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- Prevention of construction of high-rise condos near Siesta North Bridge
- Stopping the destruction of Big and Little Edwards Islands in Roberts Bay
- Spearheaded drainage and stormwater improvements while also fixing streets
- Park clean-up and landscaping including the addition of new picnic tables and signage
- Vital safety features added to Higel Ave, including speed monitors

WAYS TO PAY
Annual Membership dues for BISA are $50 per household. Funds are used to host food and drinks at social events, pay for administrative costs such as joining the CCNA and to work on restorative projects as needed. If you have questions about Membership, please contact Leslie Butterfield, Membership Chair at (713) 471-1016. We also have an opportunity for new and existing members to submit 2026 dues at our events.
