PARKS REPAIR UPDATE from the City of Sarasota

City of Sarasota, Government: Please see the attached document from the City regarding Nora Patterson Park - North.

Key Points: 

• Awaiting approval from FEMA before resuming construction. Anticipate approval by 8/31/2026 with construction anticipated to resume by 9/30/2026.

• Bay Island Park to be fully repaired to pre-storm condition and re-opened.

• The project includes storm related repairs to the seawall, landscape shell, concrete viewing/fishing pads, and wood guide rail.

• Once construction resumes, the project will take approximately 1 to 3 months to complete.

• The boardwalk under the Siesta Drive bridge connecting Bay Island Park to the County’s park remains closed from storm damage. Not the City’s to repair. This will be done by the County on their separate timeline.
