04/10/26 UPDATE:
Sarasota Bay Drawbridge No. 170061 (North Bridge) on County Road 758/Siesta Drive: Construction project: The Florida Department of Transportation will begin bridge rehabilitation work on Monday, April 20, 2026. Crews will begin needed improvements to minimize the effects of the aggressive marine environment. This bridge project consists of concrete maintenance, rehabilitation of existing mechanical and electrical systems, and structural steel repairs and steel coating replacement.
Initial work will be underneath the bridge span to minimize inconvenience, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Residents should expect noise from equipment throughout the project limits.
No lane closures are scheduled at this time. Lane closures are not allowed between 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Bridge openings will continue as normal.
Completion is anticipated in late 2026.

📣 NORTH BRIDGE REPAIR UPDATE from FDOT
The start date of early 2026 will be moved to after the Easter Holiday in mid-April. The project is still expected to be completed before the Christmas holidays, if weather permits and materials are available. North Bridge Repair is Scheduled by FDOT
• Scheduled as 200 Day Project
• Most work is under the bridge at Night and is not supposed to effect Traffic
• Night Work under the bridge will be the first part of the project. 9p-6a night
• Most day work is not supposed to affect traffic.
• There will be some 1 Lane closures, but if it impacts traffic, a 14 day notice should be sent.
• FDOT is sending mailers asap and throughout the project.
• FDOT Road Watch email every Friday during the project if you’re interested.
